Stunning property, providing stylish accommodation for up to six guests, and enjoying a prime location in the fashionable seaside town of Whitstable.

This stylish, former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for a holiday by the sea. Whitstable is a delightful seaside town that offers plenty of activities for families. The town has a wealth of independent shops and a fine selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all within 100 metres of the cottage. Enjoy the beach and coastal walks as well as a variety of water sports including windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing. Take a trip to Whitstable Castle, a bike ride along the seafront, or follow the Crab and Winkle Way along the coast to Canterbury (7.5 miles), home of the country’s oldest cathedral and the perfect place to enjoy some history and culture.

The front door of this beautifully refurbished property opens into the comfortably furnished lounge, that features a three-seater sofa and two armchairs arranged around a warming wood burner-effect gas fire, a Smart TV, and a window seat. From the lounge, head through to the light and airy kitchen/diner that offers a large dining table with seating and a Smart TV with Now entertainment package. There’s a Bluetooth speaker for enjoying a spot of music over dinner, and the well-equipped kitchen has everything you will need for whipping up a delicious meal, including an electric double oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, wine cooler, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, filter coffee machine, and microwave/grill. Beyond the kitchen is a cloakroom with WC, and completing the ground floor is the family bathroom which features a shower over the bath, WC and a Roberts Radio. Heading up to the first floor, there are two large bedrooms: a super-king-size with a Smart TV with Now entertainment package, and a king-size zip-and-link that can be made into a 2ft 6" twin on request. A further set of steep stairs takes you up into the eaves of the property where you will find a spacious twin bedroom with a low, sloping ceiling.
Outside, you'll discover a pretty garden that is a wonderful sun trap and offers comfortable seating which can be enjoyed throughout the day, and a Weber charcoal BBQ. A large tin bath with hot and cold taps is perfect for washing off sandy paws at the end of a busy day at the beach. There is unrestricted roadside parking outside of the property subject to availability.

What a lovely cottage! Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Russell, and it was kitted out with very thoughtful items. Parking was a bit tricky, but not a problem.

What a gem ! The location is perfect, just metres from the heart of Whitstable (Harbour, Shops and Bars. The cottage was clean, well maintained and immaculately presented, the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in (fantastic welcome pack and guides) . Once we parked the car we did not need to use it, excellent bus services to Canterbury and Read morea lovely coastal walk to Hearne Bay with the dog (bus back). We had a fantastic week at Salty Dog. Russell was a welcoming host, showing us round when we arrived, and we were very impressed with the quality on show: eg high-end kitchen equipment, radio and speaker, proper wine glasses, plenty of essentials in the larder, good-quality beds and mattresses - not something you find at some properties. We so enjoyed our stay at Salty Dog. The hosts have poured a lot of love, thought and care into making this a characterful and super comfortable place to stay. The location is great being so close to the quay, beach and high street with its many independent shops, cafes/restaurants. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything you could need or want. Kitchen was well equipped and had a cupboard well stocked with basics tea, coffee, salt, pepper, herbs etc . David left a generous hamper too which we really appreciated arriving late in evening. Salty Dog is a beautiful comfortable holiday cottage. The decor is tasteful and it would seem a lot of thought has gone into this lovely little house. The kitchen is small and very well equipped. We had a very comfortable stay at The Salty Dog. Its in a great location (we were able to walk from the station) close to Whitstable harbour and all the restaurants and shops. This was our second visit to Salty Dog this year. We loved it and Whitstable so much the first time. David is an incredible host who has thought of everything. He is so kind and thoughtful, leaving some essential items in the fridge and some luxury items in the hamper. Such a treat. The beds are amazing. The location of the cottage is brilliant. The Salty Dog accommodation is one of the best and clean my family and I have stayed at. It is ideally located to all restaurants, bars, shops. Bus stops nearby to visit other places, like Herne bay, Canterbury. Tankerton is only 1.6 k away walk along the beach promenade. Wow wow wow! Im not often completely flawed by my holiday accommodation but Salty Dog was outstanding. Well! For the 1st time ever we have stayed in a place that it is absolutely perfect. We have been in dozens of cottages & I always find something/plenty to niggle about, but the Salty Dog puts all other 5* cottages to shame, or it deserves a new 6* rating of its own. Thoughtful would be the word I would use for David our Host, who had thought of every eventuality needed for a comfortable holiday. From beach towel/mats and umbrella to a well supplied kitchen and larder and welcome hamper which were a delight to find. What an amazing find!!! A beautifully presented cottage. Extremely well-equipped with everything you need from a well-stocked pantry to umbrellas. Traumhaftes Haus. Wunderschn eingerichtet. Alles etwas eng aber phantastisch genutzt. Sehr sauber und super gemtliche Betten. Schnell am Meer und mitten im Zentrum. Das Parken ist eine Herausforderung. Aber wir haben in der Umgebung immer einen freien Platz gefunden. Das war sicherlich nicht unser letzter Besuch.

Salty Dog in Whitstable was the perfect lux stay for a family. David our host was so thoughtful. The quality of the interior is 5* in particular beds, bedding etc made all the difference, we really relaxed. You can tell that the Salty Dog has been lovingly decorated to the highest standard. It was a pleasure to stay there, especially during Christmas time. David and the Salty Dog family had even gone the extra mile to decorate for the festive season for our arrival. The location is perfect, with almost immediate access to the high street and harbour.
